Journey at Home Day 76

While many of us are sheltering in place in our homes on Earth, two lucky guys (Bob Behnken and Doug Hurley) got to leave the planet and head to the International Space Station (ISS). The launch was very exciting to watch, as it was the first time in a very long time that the USA went to space in its own vehicle. Since the demise of the Space Shuttle program, we've been hitching rides with the Russians.

The launch was postponed until today due to previous bad weather in Florida, where the launch takes place. Earlier in the day there was a chance that weather would cause a second scrub, but it did not. The rocket took off on time with flawless, precision maneuvers. They'll arrive at the ISS 19 hours after launch.
