You would think that living on 15 acres away from town would be a peaceful, quiet experience. But at this time of year, when male turkeys are looking for mates, it can get quite noisy. Some turkeys have paired off, but one solo male likes to visit our property and gobble continuously in an attempt to attract a mate. His gobbling sets off the doves who then continually coo. I find cooing to be a restful sound, but when interspersed with incessant gobbling, it is not.
A solo hen turkey has been visiting lately, but I've not been able to convince her stick around and wait for the single male. If only there was a Tinder for Turkeys.
