In the near future, I'll be embarking on the Greg Mortimer, a 132-passenger adventure ship. As I'm meeting it in Dublin, I wondered where the ship is now. I think its last voyage was in Central or South America. To find out, I went to my favorite ship-tracking website CruiseMapper and entered the ship name. The Greg Mortimer is currently in the North Atlantic heading for Ireland. It looks lonely out there.
Most ships are elsewhere. I took a look at Europe and immediately figured out where the river systems for the popular river cruises are. Just look at the crush of ships that weave from the Netherlands to Hungary. I wonder what it looks like from one of those boats.
