Looking through my photo archives, I came upon this still life. During spring last year, it seemed many of the photos submitted to my local camera club competition featured various takes on a pandemic still life. This is my attempt.
If you look carefully, you'll notice that the thermometer is reading over 109° F. The patient would be dead, or close to it, if that were the case. I merely stuck the thermometer in hot water until it read this high.
I find it comforting to now be looking back at the pandemic. I know it's not over, but after having my second booster, seeing the numbers waning, and hearing that hospitals have things under control, it seems we are finally crawling out of the ditch.
