Assembly Required

Journey at Home Day 69

Given that I'll be home all summer, I decided to try growing a few vegetables. It's tricky where I live because deer will eat whatever is grown unless the garden is made inaccessible to them. I got a Greene's fence raised, elevated bed to put on the back porch. It's too high for deer to reach it. They will have to walk up a flight of stairs if they want to munch anything in the bed.

Like many things, the bed required assembly. Glen agreed to put it together. It looks great and all I need are plants and an easy way to water the bed. It's about 100 feet from the closest water tap, so I need to get a hose. If this year is successful, then I'll bring and automated watering line so the next, when I am likely to be traveling, the bed will get watered.
