Journey at Home: Reflections

Day 15

Today I continue my exploration of photographing wine glasses. Specifically, my goal was to capture an image that shows a stem reflection, as you see below. Or is that really a reflection?

One way to get a reflection is to use an image processing program like Photoshop to flip the image. There are many consumer apps that reflection features such as the Keynote presentation app (although that effect is very subtle.) Another way is to place the glass on a highly reflective surface and control the light in such a way that you avoid light spots on the surface.

For this image, I took the super easy route. I simply placed a glass upside down and then balanced a glass on top of that, being careful not to spill the blue water. I can't take credit for this clever trick. I read about on DIY Photography.
