When I hike through the woods, I spend a lot of time looking at the ground to make sure I don't trip over tree roots and rocks. Sometimes I have to climb over a fallen tree or weave my way through vegetation. I also make sure that I stop to look around and appreciate the flowers, fungi, and other vegetation on the forest floor. But I also look up to gaze at the tops of the trees through which I trek. I took this photo recently when I was hiking in the forests of the Pacific Northwest.
